RUMOUR: Man United eye Kieran McKenna as potential Ten Hag replacement

1 Min Read

Manchester United is considering 38-year-old Ipswich Town manager, Kieran McKenna, as a potential replacement for Erik ten Hag, according to Goal.

The Red Devils have reportedly initiated discussions with McKenna’s representatives as they explore options to fill the managerial vacancy left by Ten Hag.

McKenna’s impressive track record, particularly his recent success with Ipswich Town in the Championship, has captured the attention of Manchester United. He led Ipswich Town to back-to-back promotions, securing their return to the Premier League for the upcoming season.

Before his managerial role at Ipswich Town, McKenna served as the U18 coach at Old Trafford in 2016. He was later promoted to the position of assistant manager under Jose Mourinho before departing in 2018.

Despite McKenna emerging as a strong contender, reports suggest that England national team manager, Gareth Southgate, remains the top candidate for the Manchester United job.

In addition to Southgate, other names linked with the managerial position at Manchester United include Graham Potter, Thomas Tuchel, and Robert De Zerbi.
