Ademola Lookman has etched his name into the history books after scoring for Atletico Madrid in their 2-1 defeat to Barcelona at the Metropolitano Stadium on Tuesday night.
The Nigerian forward became the fourth player from the country to score in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League.
Obafemi Martins was the first Nigerian to achieve the feat when he netted for Inter Milan against Villarreal in 2006.
Samuel Chukwueze joined Martins on the list with his strike for Villarreal against Bayern Munich in 2022, while Victor Osimhen also made the exclusive list after scoring for Napoli in their clash with AC Milan one year later.
Lookman will now aim to join Finidi George and Martins as Nigerians who have scored in the Champions League semi-finals.
