Man, 37, allegedly caught with 563.15kGg of illicit drugs
In furtherance of the avowed determination of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Lagos State Command, to curtail the spate of illicit drug activities in Lagos State, especially at this festive period, the Command has continued to intensify general raid operations across the State.
According to Mallum Musa, PRO NDLEA Lagos State Command,
on 1st December, 2020, the Command, after a prolong surveillance, busted another major illicit drug syndicate at Oyingbo area of Lagos State and seized over half a ton (563.15kg) of cannabis sativa and equally arrested a member of the syndicate.
The suspect, Emeka Ani, male, 37 years old, who hails from Nkanu North Local Government Area of Enugu State, is the kingpin of the syndicate that operates between Ofosu in Edo State and Lagos State.
Investigation into the case is ongoing and in no distant time other members of the syndicate, who are currently on the run, will soon be identified, arrested and also to face the full wrath of the law.
It is important to note, that this major seizure was made just a few weeks after over 5 tons of another same cannabis sativa was seized in Ayobo area of Lagos State by the Command.

“We want to assure Lagosians that NDLEA Lagos State Command will leave no stone unturned in our resolve to reduce the challenges of illicit drug abuse and trafficking in the State to the barest minimum.”
“We are still soliciting for the supply of credible information about those merchants of death by patriotic Lagosians so that we can all together get rid of them from our midst” Barr. Igwenagu, the State Commander NDLEA said.
