Lockdown: llorin palliative gulps N58.5m – Emir
The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, says N58.5 million was spent on providing palliatives for the vulnerable in Ilorin emirate during the lockdown for Coronavirus (COVID-19).
The monarch, also the Chairman, Kwara Council of Chiefs, disclosed this in Ilorin on Monday in a letter of appreciation sent to those that donated the money and materials shared during the palliatives program.
The Emir in the appreciation letter thanked all those who contributed to the success of the program both at home and abroad.
“I wish to express my profound gratitude to the indigenes, residents, and well-wishers of Ilorin Emirate, both home and abroad who donated generously both in-kind and cash towards the success of the Ilorin Emirate Palliative Fund.
“I am pleased to inform you that the milestone recorded during the historic exercise has further confirmed our commitments to the promotion of love and unity in accordance with the dictates of
Allah,’’ he said.
Sulu-Gambari reiterated his commitment to the promotion of peaceful co-existence among the people in the Ilorin emirate and the state.
The royal father prayed to God to “save the society from the calamities of COVID-19 pandemic, bestow His Mercies and prosperity on us and reward our kindness abundantly”.
Over 15,000 households in the Ilorin emirate, comprising five local government areas of Ilorin West, Ilorin East, Ilorin South, ASA, and Moro, received the palliatives.
