Lekki shooting: Body of victim not with us, we have no mortuary – St. Nicholas
St. Nicholas Hospital in Lagos has described as fake news the reports that one of the victims of the Lekki shooting was found dead in their mortuary.
The reports which identified the victim as Folorunsho Olabisi said that his body which has been buried was deposited at the hospital’s mortuary after the Lekki shooting.
Reacting to the reports, St. Nicholas Hospital cautioned the public against spreading false information
A statement issued on social media reads:
“St. Nicholas Hospital fully identify with the current situation and our sympathy is with the victims of the unfortunate incident.
“However, false information especially at this critical times, should not be encouraged.
“Please note that the said victim never presented at any of St. Nicholas Hospital facilities.”
The statement added that:
“St. Nicholas Hospital does not have a mortuary, hence this news is false and should not be encouraged to trend further. Thank you.”
St. Nicholas Hospital fully identify with the current situation and our sympathy is with the victims of the unfortunate incident. However, false information, especially at this critical times, should not be encouraged.
