Lagos’ll improve water transportation – Commissioner
The Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, has reiterated the government’s commitment to improving water transportation by providing safe and reliable ferry transportation for Lagosians.
He made the statement during a scheduled visit to the Lagos Ferry Services operational base at Mile 2 Terminal.
Osiyemi promised to support LAGFERRY in achieving its mandate of ferrying 30 percent of Lagosians via the waterways.
He commended the agency’s management and expressed delight at the E-fleet Surveillance System, describing it as a game-changer that would boost passenger’s confidence by ensuring their safety as the boats are monitored in real-time.
“I want to commend you for this initiative. This would give passengers more confidence and assurance of safety knowing they are being monitored in real-time,” he stated.
The Managing Director of LAGFERRY, Abdoulbaq Balogun, assured the commissioner of strong support to ensure he succeeds and achieves his vision for the transportation sector in the state.
