A five-year-old nursery two pupil of Tabitha Nursery and Primary school in Felele Ibadan, Adebayo Olamilekan, has been honoured with a chieftaincy title of Odo Agbe-Asaga of Isolu Alade otherwise known as Adigun Olowe.
Olamilekan was conferred with the royal title by a Lagos traditional ruler, the Onisolu of Isolu kingdom, Oba Babatunde Ishola Balogun, at a colourful ceremony in Ibeju Lekki on Saturday.
Historically, Adigun Olowe Yoruba literally means ‘an encyclopaedia of Yoruba proverbs.’
During the installation, the monarch explained that he honoured Adigun Olowe with the chieftaincy title in recognition of his contributions to the promotion of Yoruba cultural heritage.
Reacting to the honour, Adigun thanked the traditional ruler and the chiefs present at his coronation.
Adigun hails from Fiditi, Oyo State.
