The party’s state chairman, Pastor Dayo Ekong, made this known during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Thursday in Lagos.
Ekong said the primaries will take place across all local government areas using the indirect mode, also known as the delegate system.
“Our councillorship primaries will hold today (Thursday) across all the wards, while the chairmanship primaries will be held on Friday in all the local government areas,” she said.
She also assured party members and the public that the selection process will be fair and transparent.
“We are committed to free, fair and transparent primary elections,” she added.
Pastor Ekong expressed confidence that the Labour Party will perform well in the July 12 election.
“We are confident of a good outing in the election,” she stated.
The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission has scheduled the local council election to hold in 20 Local Government Areas and 37 Local Council Development Areas of the state.
