Lagos LP gubernatorial candidate Princess Oyefusi dumps party
The Lagos State deputy gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party, Princess Islamiyat Abiodun Oyefusi, has officially resigned from the party, expressing her inability to align with its current values.
The announcement came through a letter titled ‘RE: RESIGNATION OF MEMBERSHIP FROM LABOUR PARTY,’ addressed to her ward chairman on Thursday morning.
In the letter, Princess Oyefusi thanked Almighty God for the interesting ten months of her political career, highlighting the support received during the 2023 electioneering period. She specifically acknowledged Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the Labour Party’s candidate, for providing her with the political opportunity as his deputy.
The letter partly reads, “At this juncture, I can no longer see myself aligning with the current values of the Labour Party or as a member of the Labour Party, and the time has come for me to move forward.”
Expressing gratitude to her team and supporters across Lagos State and Nigeria, Oyefusi looked forward to working with them in the future to achieve the shared dreams of transforming Lagos and contributing to a better Nigeria.
“I look forward to working with you all in the future towards achieving our dreams of freeing Lagos from one-party politics, creating a Lagos that works for everyone, and a better/new Nigeria. Thank you all, and God bless you all. I wish the party the best for the future. Sincerely, Princess Abiodun Islamiyat Oyefusi. Cc: Lagos State Chairman,” Oyefusi stated.
