Lagos CP redeploys DPO, senior officers over complicity in club activities

A divisional police officer and some senior officers attached to the Ajao Estate Division have been redeployed by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu for allowing club activities at Garbana Club on Sunday.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Adejobi Olumuyiwa, 41 persons were arrested at the club by the Lagos Police Command.

“Lagos CP Fires DPO, Officers for Allowing Clubbing in Their Area. DPO Ajao Estate Division and his senior officers in the Division have been redeployed for allowing night clubbing at Garbana Club on Sunday. The command had arrested 41 clubbers at the club btw 1.40 am and 2.30 am.”

PUNCH earlier reported that the Lagos State Government over the weekend had sealed 11 facilities, including Event Centres, Lounges and Night Clubs for contravening COVID-19 directives.

The affected centres were DNA Victoria Island, Twist Lounge Kofo Abayomi Victoria Island, Carlsbad Lounge Adeniyi Jones Ikeja and Darts Event Centre, Grammar School, Ifako Ijaiye.

The event centres, bars and lounges sealed include UBC Club, VGC, Sapearz Lounge, Awolowo road, Ikoyi, Bravo event centre, Ogba, Ronite Event Centre, Iju Road, Agege.

The other centres sealed are All Season Event Centre, Ipaja, OlaideAdeoluwa Memorial Hall, Carabana Lounge/Bar Isolo, Ajao Estate.
