Kuwait’s air defence systems intercepted hostile drones and missiles in the early hours of Monday, according to the country’s military authorities.

In a statement carried by the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), the General Staff of the Kuwaiti Army said the loud explosions reported in several areas across the country were caused by successful interceptions carried out in mid-air.

“The loud explosions heard in some parts of the country, resulted from mid-air interceptions,” the Army’s General Staff said.

The military urged residents to remain calm and follow all safety directives issued by the relevant authorities as a precautionary measure.
