Liverpool coach, Jurgen Klopp was full of praise for his team after the Reds defeated Leicester City 3-0 on Sunday night to go level on points with league leaders, Tottenham.
Klopp’s depleted team showed class despite losing a number of first-team stars including Virgil Van Dijk, Joe Gomes, Thiago Alcantara, Mohammed Salah, Jordan Henderson and Trent Alexander Arnold due to various injuries.
The defending champions who are unbeaten at Anfield since April 2017 kicked off the rout with an own goal by Leicester’s Johnny Evans (21′) followed by new fan-fav, Diogo Jota 2o minutes after before Roberto Firmino 86th minute header made it 3-0.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Klopp said: “It was very [satisfying], because we deserved it 100 per cent and the boys played an incredible game against a top, top opponent. Playing like we did tonight, I don’t take this for granted.
“The boys were on fire – football-wise – played, and played and played. Jamie Vardy was much deeper than even last season, so that made it more tricky, as we had to bring Gini (Wijnaldum) into possession as well. How the whole team defended from the front was incredible. We should’ve scored more goals, and that’s a top sign for a good game.”
