Kim Jong Un concludes Russia visit, heads back to North Korea

Published

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un concluded a six-day tour of Russia on Sunday with the departure of his armoured train.

It was Kim’s first official trip outside of North Korea since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, and it raised concerns in the West that Moscow and Pyongyang may be seeking to evade sanctions and sign a weapons deal.

Russian news agency Ria Novosti published a video of Kim’s departure, showing him waving goodbye from the train to a Russian delegation led by Natural Resources Minister Alexander Kozlov.

The TASS news agency reported that Kim received a set of five explosive drones, a reconnaissance drone, and a bulletproof vest as gifts from a governor of a certain province.
