Kidnappers kill Okada rider days after friends paid N30,000 ransom

The body of an abducted commercial motorcycle rider, popularly known as Okada, was found in a nearby bush in a community in Kwoi, Jaba Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The development is coming days after the abductors collected N30,000 ransom that was raised by friends to free the victim.

DAILY POST reports that a source (name withheld) said the deceased’s friends had helped him to raise the money, thinking he will be released, but were shocked to later found his corpse in a bush close to the community.

According to the source; “He was kidnapped on 13/01/2022 in Kwoi. His friends were forced to contribute the ransom to secure his release but the bandits still refused to release him after receiving the money. They later killed him.”

Confirming the incident, District head of the community, Mr. Yunusa Idris said, “as soon as the friends contributed the money for his release, everybody in the community was expecting him, but his corpse was discovered.

He said; “The N30,000 ransom they demanded was paid by his friends but was not released because they (bandits) demanded more money which, was not paid.”
