Kastina police neutralize 13 kidnappers, rescue 263 victims


The Katsina State Police Command announced the neutralization of 13 suspected kidnappers and the rescue of 263 abducted persons in a series of successful operations conducted between June and September 2023.

The command also reported the arrest of numerous suspects involved in various criminal activities.

According to the police spokesperson, ASP Abubakar Aliyu, on Wednesday, the operations led to the arrest of 104 armed robbery suspects, 97 murder/culpable homicide suspects, and 148 suspected rapists.

Additionally, seven individuals were apprehended for possession of illicit drugs.

The exhibits recovered during the operations include one pistol, 523 rounds of ammunition, four AK-47 rifles, six locally-made guns, over 600 rustled animals, 12 motor vehicles, and 17 mobile phones.

The identified illicit drugs recovered during the period under review include 568 sachets of D5; 180 wraps of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, 23 packets of Exzole tablet, 411 packets of Rebozel tablet, and five packets of Diezole tablet.
