Kano gov hires Tinubu’s lawyer to reclaim mandate
Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has hired renowned lawyer and senior advocate of Nigeria, Chief Wole Olanipekun, to lead the charge to regain his mandate at the Court of Appeal.
This comes after the Kano State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal sacked Yusuf and declared his opponent from the All Progressives Congress, Nasir Yusuf Gawuna, as the winner of the March 18 governorship election in the state.
Governor Yusuf has filed a 42-ground of appeal before the appellate court, asking the court to set aside the judgment of the tribunal and also striking out the petition of the APC.
Chief Olanipekun is the lead counsel for President Bola Tinubu in his tribunal case at the Presidential Petition Tribunal.
The legal team of the governor also includes Bode Olanipekun SAN, Ibrahim G. Waru and Akintola Makinde, with Wole Olanipekun & Co. as the legal firm handling the appeal.
