The Chairman of Bichi Local Government Area in Kano State, Prof. Yusuf Muhammad Sabo, has been suspended for three months on Wednesday.
According to The PUNCH, the suspension was decided by the state Council Councillors who accused the LGA Chairman had failed to discharge his constitutional duties in the local government.
The leader of the Council, Muhammad Tinki, told newsmen that Sabo’s suspension followed a unanimous decision taken by the councillors after due deliberations in the meeting they summoned recently.
“Now, he will serve the suspension and the committee constituted to investigate the matter will submit its report and recommendations in due course,” he said
When contacted, for his reaction, the telephone of the embattled Council Chairman, Sabo, was not reachable.
A text message to him was not responded to as of the time of filing this report.
