Kaduna airstrike: Army pledges transparent investigation
The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, has affirmed that the Nigerian Army is committed to conducting a thorough investigation into the accidental bombing of villages in Tudun Biri, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
During a Channels Television interview on Tuesday, General Musa assured the public that the findings of the investigation would be disclosed soon and emphasized the Army’s commitment to transparency.
He stated, “The outcome of the investigation will be made public very soon. We are sincere and fair; we want to know what truly happened to make amends. I can assure you that nothing will be thrown under the carpet.”
General Musa urged Nigerians to take ownership of the security challenges facing the country and shared that technology is being leveraged to address insecurity and prevent similar incidents in the future.
“Nigerians must take ownership of the insecurity challenges facing the country.
“We are leveraging technology to end insecurity, especially to avert what happened in Kaduna”, he said.
The accidental bombing incident occurred in the first week of December during the Maulad celebration, leading to widespread condemnation and concerns among Nigerians.
