HE CAUSED HER DEATH! Ekiti man, who allegedly used own 16-year-old daughter for rituals, on trial for rape

An Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday remanded a 57-year-old man, ‎Daramola Kehinde, in prison for allegedly raping his 16-year-old daughter.

Kehinde, of no fixed address, is facing a count of rape.

The prosecutor, Insp. Johnson Okunade, told the court that the accused committed the alleged offence on Aug. 10, at Iyin-Ekiti.

Okunade said that the accused raped his 16-year-old daughter, which led to her death.

He said that the offence contravened the provisions of Section 31 (2) of Child Rights Law and Section 214 of the Criminal Code, Law of Ekiti State, 2012.

The prosecutor urged the court to remand the accused in prison, pending legal advice from the office of Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

The plea of the accused was not taken.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr Adesoji Adegboye, ordered that the accused be remanded and adjourned the case until Nov. 2, for mention.

WuzupNaija had earlier reported that Daramola was accused by a Facebook user of using his daughter, Haryomikun Timisire Daramola, for rituals.

The Facebook user, one Omolayo Sussan Omowumi, had also claimed Kehinde Daramola of Awo Ekiti in Irepodun/Irepodun Local Government Area of Ekiti State who is married to her aunt, Esther Ojuolape, tried to rape his daughter three times.

The girl was said to have revealed the secret on her deathbed.

However, in a recent twist, it was revealed that Daramola actually had carnal knowledge of his daughter before her death.
