JUST IN: Tiger Woods injured in horrific car accident
Golf star, Tiger Woods has been hospitalised after sustaining an injury in a horrific car accident near Los Angeles, according to officials.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed the news via a statement released on Tuesday, February 23, 2021.
According to the statement, the accident happened at 7:12 a.m. on Tuesday and “Mr. Woods was extricated from the wreck with the ‘jaws of life’ by Los Angeles County firefighters and paramedics, then transported to a local hospital by ambulance for his injuries.”
The statement also added that the vehicle of the five-time holder of the annual Masters Tournament’s “sustained major damage”.
At the time of this report, the conditions of the three-time winner of the U.S. Open title remains unknown to the general public.
The department’s statement read: “On February 23, 2021, at approximately 7:12 AM, LASD responded to a single vehicle roll-over traffic collision on the border of Rolling Hills Estates and Rancho Palos Verdes.
“The vehicle was travelling northbound on Hawthorne Boulevard, at Black-horse Road, when it crashed. The vehicle sustained major damage.
“The driver and sole occupant was identified as PGA golfer, Eldrick “Tiger” Woods. Mr. Woods was extricated from the wreck with the “jaws of life” by Los Angeles County firefighters and paramedics, then transported to a local hospital by ambulance for his injuries.
“The traffic investigation is being conducted by investigators from LASD Lomita Station.”
