JUST IN: Tension mounts over ‘inexplicable’ delay in Igboho’s trial
After hours of waiting without getting an update, supporters of Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, aka Sunday Igboho are beginning to get apprehensive over the delay in his trial.
Igboho’s supporters from Nigeria, and some based in the Benin Republic, besieged the Cour D’Appeal to identify with the Yoruba nation activist as early as 7.00 am are beginning to tense up as the trial of the activist is yet to commence over eight hours after arriving the court premises.
Igboho has been kept in one of the prosecutors’ rooms since the early hours of Monday.
While some of his supporters are optimistic he will be freed, some of them are exhibiting unruly tendencies.
Frustrated by the delay, some of Igboho’s supporters are venting anger on anyone who takes pictures or records videos of events in the court premises, including journalists, The Nation reports.
