UPDATED: Danger averted as fire razes fuel-laden tanker along Lagos-Ibadan expressway
A fuel-laden tanker was razed by fire on Friday morning along the Otedola Bridge ascending inward the Berger area of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
WUZUPNIGRIA reports that a major disaster was averted by first responders who arrived at the scene to quell the fire which could have resulted in a massive explosion.
Although the source of the fire remains unknown, there was no report of causalities or injuries to the occupants of the truck as well passers-by.
Meanwhile, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has urged commuters to tread cautiously while plying the route as the incident has caused gridlock with motorists stranded around the axis
“Though the fire has been put out, we implore Motorists to take extra care driving through this route. @followlastma on ground doing the needful. Please comply with traffic Officers.”
