The Personal Assistant to the President on New Media, Bashir Ahmad has expressed shock that the founder of Microsoft, Bill Gates and his wife, Melinda are opting for divorce.

Bashir disclosed that he found it ‘scary’ that a couple who built a solid union for 27-year union could wake up one day and call it quit.

The president’s media aide bared his mind through his verified Twitter account on Monday night.

The Gates had released a joint statement on Monday night explaining that they “no longer believe we can grow together as a couple in this next phase of our lives.”

Bill Gates is best known as the founder of Microsoft, who leveraged his fortune with Melinda Gates to birth the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in 2000.

The Gates Foundation has since grown to become one of the largest global charitable foundations in the world, with an endowment of almost $50 billion.
