Emir of Bungudu in Zamfara, Alhaji Hassan Attahiru, was on Tuesday kidnapped along Kaduna-Abuja highway.

A competent source who crave anonymous confirmed the incident, saying the attackers opened fire on the convoy of the emir and successfully demobilised some of the vehicles before whisking the traditional ruler away.

The source also disclosed that the emir was kidnapped around Olam Factory, a few kilometres to the city of Kaduna, while he was heading back to his domain after attending an event in Abuja.

As at the time of filing this report, the Police could not be reached for further confirmation of his abduction.
