JUST IN: ASUU declares nationwide strike
The Academic Staff Union of Universities has resolved to embark on a “comprehensive and total” strike to compel the Federal government to meet its requests.
This comes after they voted to embark on a month-long warning strike as the Federal Government is yet to meet its demands.
The strike was declared on Monday at a press conference addressed by the President of ASUU, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke.
Members of the union’s National Executive Council had held marathon meetings since Saturday at the University of Lagos titled ‘NEC for NEC.’
ASUU had then sensitized and mobilized lecturers and students across all universities on the reason the union might likely go on strike.
