Junior Pope: Movie producers suspend Adanma Luke, launch investigation
The Association of Movie Producers has suspended Adanma Luke, the producer associated with the movie project following the tragic death of actor Junior Pope
Junior Pope met his untimely demise on April 10 after he fell into the River Niger in Asaba, Delta state while on his way to a movie shoot.
In response to the tragedy, AMP’s national president, Blessing Ebigieson, announced the immediate suspension of Adanma Luke and the formation of a nine-member committee to investigate the circumstances surrounding Pope’s death and that of the other individuals involved.
Ebigieson stated, “The producer, Adamma Luke, is hereby advised to suspend all work pending on the submission of the investigations report, and the final decision is taken.”
Expressing condolences to the affected families, AMP described the news as profoundly shocking and unexplainable.
“The news of the boat mishap got to us as a rude shock without comprehension,” the statement reads.
“Following this tragic incident, AMP has set up a nine-man committee to investigate all activities that led to the death of these practitioners on the set of the movie, Another Side of Life!
“As we mourn our fellow filmmakers, we ask for calm from all sectors, stakeholders, and the public.”
