Veteran Nollywood actor Prince Jide Kosoko has called for unity, professionalism, and mutual respect among Nigerian actors amid growing concern over the surge in online altercations within the entertainment industry.

Speaking passionately, the renowned actor, also known as Jide Babs, directed his appeal especially at female actors in the Yoruba film sector, who have increasingly taken to social media to air personal grievances. Kosoko reminded them that their present actions will shape the narrative of tomorrow, urging them to consider the legacy they are leaving behind.

He cautioned that as mothers and future grandmothers, they must be mindful that the internet never forgets.
“We trained many of you. We watched you grow. And while we are proud of how far many of you have come, it pains us to see the house we built being torn apart by ego-driven conflicts,” he said.

Kosoko expressed disappointment that while those involved in past disputes have since embraced reconciliation, it is now the younger generation—whom they mentored in the values of respect and humility—who are perpetuating these public quarrels.

Emphasizing the influential role entertainers play in society, he urged them to embody integrity and cultural values in their conduct, both publicly and privately.
“Even those who once had disagreements in the past have since embraced peace. But this new wave has taken things to a level that brings shame and discomfort to all of us,” he said.

He also encouraged them to take cues from their male counterparts, noting how many have managed their differences discreetly and respectfully.
“We urge you to learn from your male colleagues, who despite differences, have found mature ways to handle conflicts without public disgrace,” he added.

Prince Kosoko called on those involved in the disputes to redirect their energy towards personal growth, career advancement, and promoting peace, highlighting that public confrontations only result in collective harm.

He disclosed that senior industry figures will soon convene a roundtable with the parties involved and other key stakeholders to find peaceful resolutions to ongoing disputes.
“We appeal to all to honour this call when it comes. Anyone who chooses to ignore it would be clearly choosing disunity over peace, and destruction over growth. Whatever the issues are, you will have the opportunity to express yourself and we will certainly ensure an amicable settlement,” he said.

Kosoko assured fans and colleagues that efforts are actively underway behind the scenes to restore harmony within the industry.
“We remain dedicated to restoring stability, honour, and mutual respect within the industry. It won’t be long before the results of our efforts become clear to everyone,” he added.
