Following the news of the defection of two bigwigs in Kwara State, Bukola Saraki, and Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, Nigerians have condemned as well as praised the long-awaited move of the politicians.

Earlier today Saraki and Ahmed had issued a statement via their social media handles that “following consultations” they have decided to dump the ruling All Progressives Congress.

Saraki in a lengthy statement claimed that that the decision to leave APC has been inescapably imposed on him by certain elements and forces within the APC who has frustrated him.

The news of their defection has, however, generated a lot of controversy on the internet with many saying that Saraki never left PDP in the first place.

Some  Nigerians on Twitter also accused Saraki of sitting on the fence all the while he was supposedly a member of the APC.

Some angry Nigerians resulted to name calling and used meme’s to illustrate his defection from APC to PDP.

Some political enthusiasts/supporters also praised Saraki’s bravery and hailed him for going back to his political “alma mater.”

Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party on Tuesday welcomed Saraki and Abdulfatah Ahmed officially to the party.

Also, Ben Murray-Bruce, Femi Fani Kayode, Atiku Abubakar, and others also welcomed Saraki to the party on their respective Twitter handles.
