Iran has issued a stern warning, stating that any further military action by Israel will be met with a “harsh response,” according to APA’s Tehran bureau.

The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reinforced this position in an official statement, emphasizing that any new Israeli operations would trigger a strong retaliatory reaction from Tehran.

The ministry reiterated its stance amid rising regional tensions and ongoing hostilities.

In its statement, the ministry said that in response to what it described as repeated violations of the April 8 ceasefire, alongside continued military activities by Israel in coordination with the United States against Iran and Lebanon, Iranian armed forces carried out strikes on Monday evening targeting several military sites.

It added that these actions were taken under what it described as the right to self-defense, in accordance with Article 51 of the United Nations Charter.

The ministry further stressed that the Lebanon ceasefire forms a key component of the April 8 agreement. It also accused the United States of bearing responsibility for the consequences of any breaches of the deal and for contributing to the escalation of tensions in the region. Reiterating its warning, Tehran maintained that any additional action by Israel would be met with a harsh response from Iran.
