Innocent Nigerian man arrested for drug trafficking in Saudi Arabia has been exonerated
Nigerian man, Ibrahim Ibrahim, who was jailed in Saudi Arabia for three years for an offence he did not commit, has finally been released.
Chairman/CEO of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, announced his release in a tweet on Tuesday.
Mr Ibrahim was imprisoned on charges of drug trafficking.
Mrs Dabiri-Erewa said in the tweet that the release was jointly facilitated by the Zamfara State Government who travelled with officials from NIDCOM and the office of the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF).

NIDCOM also tweeted saying: “A delegation from Nigerians in Diaspora Commission and Zamfara State Govt arrived in Jeddah with documentary evidence provided by NIDCOM for the trial slated for 18/02/2020.
“The documentary evidence included: A written statement by NDLEA stating that they have arrested and charged three persons who planned the drugs on the defendant and also a certified copy of the two counts charges sheet from the Federal High Court Kano.”
