Kuchi Community in Munya Local Government Area of Niger state has rehabilitated the eight kilometers Sabon Kabula-Kura road to complement the government’s development efforts.

Alhaji Abdullahi Maikan, Chairman of the community’s road rehabilitation committee disclosed this to the Newsmen on Tuesday in Munya.

Maikan said that the community had raised N2.7 million used in the rehabilitation of the road to ease transportation in the area.

“The elders and youths of Kuchi recently contributed N2.7 million to rehabilitate the only road from Sabon Kabula to Kuchi town,” he said.

Maikano said the community decided to embark on the project to ease the hardship on the people owing to the deplorable condition of the road over the years.

According to Maikano, plying the road before now was a nightmare, however, the situation has changed with the rehabilitation.

“The road was not motorable before, but now people can easily transport their farm produce to the market,” he said.

He said that the community decided to task themselves to work on that road after several appeals to the authorities and wealthy individuals failed.

“We resorted to self-help because of the socio-economic importance attached to the people of Kuchi and other neighboring villages.

“Many of our people are farmers who produce and sell to people in the urban areas,” he said.

He thanked those who contributed to the success of the rehabilitation of the road and prayed Allah to reward them abundantly.
