Ibezim replaces Late Uwajumogu as Imo-North Senator
Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, on Tuesday welcomes Frank Ibezim as the new senatorial representative of the Imo-North Senatorial District.
Ibezim was elected as the All Progressives Congress member to replace the late Benjamin Uwajumogu who died last year following his triumph at a bye-election held months ago.
The PUNCH reported that the oath of office and oath of allegiance was administered by the Clerk of the Senate, Ibrahim El-Ladan, during Ibezim’s swearing-in.
Although the Independent National Electoral Commission declared APC as the winner, no candidate was awarded the Senatorial district because of the tussle between Ifeanyi Ararume and Ibezim.
Following the verdict of the Supreme Court, Ibezim was subsequently declared the winner.
