I won’t demote myself for a billionaire lover – Shaffy Bello
Popular Nollywood actress, Shaffy Bello, has made it clear that she would not consider dating a man who restricts her from working.
In a candid conversation on the Me, Her, and Everything Else podcast with Stephanie Coker, the actress emphasized the importance of a woman’s financial independence, even in a relationship.
Bello expressed her stance, stating, “I think a man was raised to be a provider. To be the king, usually, people go to the king for direction. So as a woman, I want to have my own so that I can be of help when you need me. I can’t date a man who says stop working.”
She further elaborated on her perspective, emphasizing that even if she were married to a billionaire, she would still engage in meaningful work.
“But, to be honest with you, even if you are a billionaire and you put me in a hole, I still have to do something. Because the reason you fell in love with me is because of who I am now. So I am not going to demote myself because of that,” she added.
The actress, who was previously married to Akinrimisi from 1995 until their separation in 2020, has been vocal about her desire for companionship without the necessity of marriage.
In February, she disclosed that she values her independence but seeks a life partner without the formalities of marriage.
