Mercy Eke, winner of the ‘Pepper Dem’ edition of BBNaija Season 4 has pledged to work harder even as she claimed no man is responsible for her success.

The reality star made the statement in a viral video uploaded to her YouTube channel, where she was quoted as saying that “In this part of the world, people believe a man is behind the success of a woman, whether she is married or single. I work hard for everything I own today. When people say a man is behind these things, I find it appalling. However, it does not get to me anymore because what else would one say? It only shows that my success is visible.”

According to the Imo State-born celebrity, she owed nobody any apology or explanation on why she broke up with her ex.

Responding to a fan who asked about the state of her relationship with Ike Onyema, she replied, “Break up happened. We are done. That ship sank a long time ago. I am in a happy place and he is good as well. Stop flooding my timeline with this silly question; we are over. So, let’s just keep it moving.”

Eke further declared that the fear of failure makes her stronger.

“My biggest fear in life is failure. I don’t want to fail and go back to the streets. I don’t want to roast corn anymore. I just want to keep doing what I know how to do best. God has blessed me. The fear of failure makes me stronger. I want to be a better person. I want today to be better than yesterday. That is why no matter what is thrown at me, I would never stop growing. I would never stop establishing myself and I would never stop dreaming,”
