I will lead the protest that might land me in Kirikiri prison – Naira Marley
Controversial singer, Naira Marley has said that he’s ready to lead a protest which might land him in Kirikiri prison.
The singer made this known via a post he shared on social media.
He said:
“If y’all want me to lead D protest I will lead but just know that they will send me to kirikiri prison this time.”
Recall that Sahara Reporters publisher, Omoyele Sowore, challenged singer Burna Boy to join a protest against bad governance in Nigeria.
According to him, Burna Boy who is celebrated by foreign media as a revolutionary musician hasn’t done any revolutionary act like the late Fela Anikulapo Kuti whom he’s compared to.
Sowore who is the convener of the Revolution Now protest stated this ahead of a peaceful protest which held on October 1st which is Nigeria’s Independence Day anniversary.
He tweeted:
“Hello @burnaboy, everywhere I turn people describe you as a revolutionary musician, the foreign media even celebrate you compare you to Fela Kuti, but I am yet to see you lead anyone to a police station carrying a coffin for head of state! Join #Oct1stProtest #RevolutionNow.”
If y’all want me to lead D protest I will lead but just know that they will send me to kirikiri prison this time.
