‘I took N1m to set up a business for my wife still she’s having an affair’
A civil servant, Adebayo Awogbemi, on Wednesday, prayed an Ikole-Ekiti Customary court to dissolve his 14-year-old union to his wife, Odunola, over adultery.
Awogbemi, who lives on No: 5, Oloro street, Odo Ayedun-Ekiti, also seeks dissolution on the grounds of constant fighting.
He alleged that his wife was an adulterous woman.
The father of four explained that he caught her red-handed with her lover on three different occasions.
Awogbemi told the court his wife’s lover’s mother reported her to the Elekole of Ikole Ekiti, Oba Ajibade Fasiku on Feb.2019.
“I collected a loan of N1 million to set up a business for my wife to make her comfortable but all of a sudden, she is having a secret affair with another man in her shop,” he said.
He also complained that his wife took his four children out of their house on Dec. 17, 2018 without his consent.
The petitioner told the court that he has been responsible for the feeding and payment of the children’s school fees.
Adebayo urged the court to grant him custody of his two sons, to enable him to take good care of them.
The President of the court, Mrs Yemisi Ojo, after hearing the petitioner’s testimony adjourned the case until March,11, for further hearing.
