I thought we were friends, Nigerian dad tells daughter who blocked him on Twitter
Avoiding social media connections with parents and other adult family members has become a global trend among young people.
Those who are kind enough to confirm their parents’ friend requests most times end up blocking them from having access to their social media pages and posts.
It is believed that this action among young people is aimed at keeping the parents away from prying into their social media life which most times is in contrast with their offline personality.
A Nigerian lady on Friday shared her father’s reaction when he discovered he had been blocked by his children on micro-blogging site Twitter.
The Nigerian dad who was recently served a dose of social media blocking by his two children went emotional as he appealed to his daughter to allow him access to her Twitter posts.
He wondered why his children would go to the length of blocking him when he thought they were friends.
The daughter identified as Temidele took to Twitter on Friday to share screenshots of her WhatsApp conversation with her dad with the caption:
“Lmao Just remembered that time my brother and I blocked my dad on here. I felt so bad.”
In the screenshots, the father was seen asking:
“Is there a reason you and Victor blocked me on Twitter.
“That’s a very unfriendly gesture, I thought we were friends.”

When the daughter replied:
“Noo, daddy we were testing something.”
He responded:
“You guys are over 21 you are responsible for what you do, mine is to truly guide you from pitfalls.
“Please carry me along it’s very important for all of us.”
The tweet, which has garnered over 2000 retweets and over 5000 likes, has sparked several hilarious reactions from Twitter users.
