American comedian and actor, Kevin Hart, has spoken out for the first time after a car crash last month left him with major back injuries.

Hart says he sees “life from a whole new perspective” after the accident.

On Sunday 1st September, Hart’s car veered off the road along Cold Canyon Road in California and rolled down an embankment. His spine was fractured in three places and he remained hospitalised for 10 days following surgery.

According to a police report, Hart was not driving the car, identified as a 1970 Plymouth Barracuda. The car was driven by one Jared Black.

About 60 days after the crash, he took to his verified Instagram page at the early hours of today (Wednesday) to share a video of his rehabilitation process, advising fans not to “take today for granted because tomorrow’s not promised.”

In the footage the comedian said:

When God talks, you’ve got to listen…

“I swear, life is funny. Because some of the craziest things that happen to you end up being the thing that you needed most. And in this case, I honestly feel like God basically told me to sit down.

Hart continued

“After my accident, I see things differently. I see life from a whole new perspective.”

“My appreciation for life is through the roof. I’m thankful for my family, my friends. I’m thankful for the people that simply ride with me and have been with me. Because you stood by me, my fans. I’m thankful for all of your love and support.”
