I grew up hating my mum – Actress Dorcas Shola Fapson
Nigerian actress and presenter, Dorcas Shola Fapson, has reminisced childhood memories of how she grew up hating her mum.
In an interview with media personality, Taymesan, the MTV Shuga star revealed that their father made them believe their mother who was deported from the UK left them deliberately.
She said her father literally kept them away from her mother without a single contact as she grew up.
She explained that her mum’s family sent her parents to the UK after they got married.
Unfortunately, her mum was deported because they didn’t have the necessary document but her dad managed to escape.
She said, “My dad and mum got married they went to UK, because my mum’s family sent them to the UK, you know they helped them get there and everything.
“Obviously they didn’t have the necessary papers when they got there.
“When I was two years old my mum got deported from the UK back to Nigeria but my dad managed to get away and just keep us in.
“Looking back on it now, I can understand as an adult but then I didn’t understand.
“My dad literally kept us away from my mum. We didn’t have any contact with her.
“He told me that she left us. Obviously, he’s not going to tell us that she got deported.
“We were too young to understand but he told us that she didn’t love us.
“She didn’t care about us. She left us. so, I grew up hating my mum.”
