Social media influencer, Amarachi Amosi, aka Ashmusy, has revealed she doesn’t enjoy being famous.
Ashmusy, who has over 326,000 followers on Instagram, also revealed she did not know the potential of social media when she joined the photo and video sharing platform in 2015 as 200L student of Madonna University Okija, Anambra State.
The 25-year-old said,
“If I become famous, then what? Meanwhile, I am getting famous already. I don’t really like fame because I feel it is not comfortable. One would always have to be conscious of what one does.
“I believe I would be famous even without working for it. I think it has to do with my destiny. I am a popular fine girl and I am just doing my ‘thing’. I am not pursuing fame but when fame comes as a recognition for what I’m doing, then, that is fine by me.”
On social media usage, Ashmusy said:
“I didn’t know the potential of social media when I started using it. I just joined Instagram in 2015 as a fine girl that wanted to show off my fine clothes and be a ‘slay queen’. I was a 200 level student of Madonna University (Okija, Anambra State) at the time.
“However, after I graduated, I thought of taking advantage of the number of followers I had. I did a lot of research on what I could do with my social media page to generate income. I saw how some people had succeeded on social media and I started mine. However, I never thought I would be this successful.”
On her most embarrassing moment, she notes:
I had a boyfriend when I was about 12 years old and one day, my mum caught us kissing under the staircase.
“We were living in the same compound, so she brought us out and disgraced us. She flogged us and poured water on us. I felt really embarrassed.”
