HURRAH! 71 hearty cheers to legendary actor, Chief Pete Edochie
Legendary Nigerian actor, Chief Pete Edochie, is 71 today, he was born on March 7, 1947.
The award-winning actor is considered one of the most talented African actors being honoured with lifetime Achievement by Africa Film Academy and Industry Merit Award by Africa Magic.
The 71-year-old came into prominence in the 1980’s when he played the lead role of Okonkwo in an NTA adaptation of Chinua Achebe’s all-time best-selling novel, Things Fall Apart.
Edochie was honoured as a Member of the Order of the Niger by former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
The Enugu born actor has featured in many films. According to Wikipedia, he has featured in approximately 70 m0vies or more.
He is fondly known for acting roles like village head, a high priest, and the likes.
Edochie is blessed with two children, Linc Edochie and Yul Edochie. Yul contested for and lost the gubernatorial seat in Anambra State.He contested under the Democratic People’s Congress.
