Pastor Muyiwa James of the of Living Faith Church, Lafia, has urged Christians to show their love for God through their actions by loving what God loves.
He gave the charge on Sunday while preaching a sermon on soul-winning to attract the unsaved to God by reaching out to the lost.
In the sermon, “Unveiling the breakthrough power of love’’, the cleric said “one of the cardinal ways of demonstrating your love for God is by winning souls into the kingdom of God through actions that will return souls to the kingdom.
“God is happy when sinners return for forgiveness,’’ he stressed.
The cleric made reference to the Bible in Romans, Chapter 8, Verse 28 emphasising that soul-winning not only demonstrated man’s love for God but also attracted showers of God’s blessings upon the believer.
“To show you are on the Lord’s side, you demonstrate it by your action. Loving God must be based on your actions and that means loving whatever God loves.
“You cannot love God without loving soul-winning for God because God loves souls and it is that love for God that brings about your breakthroughs in life.
“For your life to have meaning, you must have love and passion for God because love of God is the foundation of success in life.
“As you go about soul winning, preaching the good news, you will also begin to enjoy good news too because love for God triggers the release of the blessings of God upon believers,’’ he said.
