A Syrian expatriate on Friday died in a multiple auto accident which occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The Syrian, whose name was given as Ehisan Fahed Johari, was crushed to death while his personal assistant was injured.

The operatives of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps said the accident occurred around Danco Filling Station, on the busy road.

Johari was said to be returning from a trip to Akure, Ondo State in company with his personal assistant and the driver when the incident occurred.

The trio were said to be travelling in a Toyota forerunner SUV with number plate – LND 345 CV – when another vehicle hit their vehicle from the rear, and their driver parked in order to examine the extent of the damage.

The expatriate had disembarked from the vehicle with his personal assistant, to examine the damage.

The Public Relations Officer of the TRACE, Babatunde Akinbiyi, said another vehicle coming from behind hit a Kia Rio with the number plate – KSF 725 AX – which forced it to hit the expatriate and his assistant, as they were about to get back inside their vehicle.

Akinbiyi had linked the cause of the accident to speeding.

He said the corpse of the victim had been deposited in the mortuary at Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, while the injured person was equally receiving treatment in the same hospital.
