Earlier, Police Prosecutor Maria Dauda said the accused committed the offence on Sept. 26 at 2.30 p.m. at School Gate, Lakowe, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos.

He told the court that the teenager murdered another teenager, Tobi Odeyemi, 15, by stabbing him in the chest with a thick iron stitching awl used in sewing shoes.

“The accused had accosted a friend of Odeyemi and accused him of failing to pay for the slippers he sewed for him.

“Odeyemi joked about it and it angered Shuiabu who brought out the needle [Stitching awl ] and stabbed the accused on the chest,” Dauda said.
