Atlético Madrid’s forward, Antoine Griezmann, has expressed his eagerness to represent France at the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris this summer. Scheduled from July 26 to August 11, the Games coincide with Griezmann’s expected participation in Euro 2024 for France.

“I will do my utmost to be part of the Paris Games,” Griezmann affirmed to Le Monde, highlighting the extraordinary nature of hosting the event in Paris. Olympic regulations stipulate that team rosters comprise players under 23, with allowances for three players above that age.

Despite being 32 years old, Griezmann remains confident in his physical ability to handle consecutive international tournaments. “I am aware of my body,” he stated, emphasizing the quality of Atlético’s medical staff and dismissing concerns about potential strain.

“I will engage in discussions with the Atlético management when the time is right, to assess the possibility of my participation,” Griezmann mentioned, indicating his intention to coordinate with the club regarding his Olympic aspirations.

A key figure in the French squad with 127 caps, Griezmann also weighed in on the speculation surrounding his teammate Kylian Mbappé’s potential move to LaLiga. Mbappé has reportedly declined contract renewal with Paris Saint-Germain, sparking interest from Real Madrid.

While negotiations between Mbappé and Real Madrid continue, Griezmann expressed anticipation for the prospect of facing him in the Madrid derby. “He will receive a warm welcome in Spain, and I look forward to competing against him,” Griezmann remarked on the potential transfer saga involving Mbappé.
