The Annual Grammy awards have acknowledged the role of four Nigerian music artiste in Afrobeats, noting that all eyes are on Africa.
The Grammy Awards, while acknowledging other players in afrobeat music, specifically mentioned Wizkid, Burna Boy, Mr Eazi and Tiwa Savage.
The Grammy body, in a statement, said,
“Currently, Afrobeats is the next international sound sweeping pop musicโ. This is quite a recognition and a big deal for the African society. Oh, and yes, we are proud of how far we have come
The Annual Grammy Awardsย ceremony is set to go down in three weeks; 27 January 2020.
The Recording Academy highlights all these landmarks, including Wizkidโs recent feature in Beyonceโs โLion King: The Giftโ album. Efforts contributed by Burna Boy and Mr Eazi are also not marginalised. Not to forget Tiwa Savageโs mega music deal with Universal Music Group. Truly, all eyes are on Africa!
