Globe Soccer Awards: Cristiano Ronaldo named Player of the Century

Juventus star, Cristiano Ronaldo, has been crowned 2020 Golden Soccer Awards’ Player of the Century on Sunday afternoon.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner beat Barcelona’s Lionel Messi and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah to the award.

Reacting to the achievement, Ronaldo on his verified Instagram handle which has 248mfollowers expressed delight at winning the award.

“Couldn’t be happier with tonight’s award! As I’m about to celebrate my 20th year as a professional footballer, Globe Soccer Player Of The Century is a recognition that I receive with so much joy and pride! Once again, great Gala tonight in Dubai at such an amazing place as Burj Khalifa,” he said.

Ronaldo also congratulated other winners at the award, including Bayern Munich duo Robert Lewandowski and Hans-Flick.
