Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek has firmly stated that Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen will remain at the club until the end of the season, warning potential suitors like Chelsea to back off during the January transfer window.

Osimhen joined Galatasaray from Napoli last summer and has been in outstanding form, scoring nine goals and providing five assists in 12 games.

His performances have made him one of the standout players in the Turkish league, attracting interest from major European clubs.

Chelsea is reportedly eyeing the Super Eagles forward as a potential replacement for Christopher Nkunku, should they receive a significant offer for the Frenchman. However, Özbek made it clear that Galatasaray is determined to keep Osimhen until his loan deal expires on June 30, 2025.

Speaking to A Spor via Spor Skor, Özbek said, “Victor Osimhen came to Galatasaray like a 100-year-old tradition and has quickly adapted. His attitude at Florya [the club’s training ground] shows how committed he is. Those who cannot adapt to this atmosphere cannot stay at Galatasaray.

“He is our player this season. There is a very difficult clause for him to leave during the mid-season break. According to our agreement, he will play for us until the end of the season.

“No one should bend it. He will make his own decision at the end of the season.”

Osimhen has also shown his commitment to staying at Galatasaray until the end of the season, effectively shutting down speculations about a January exit.

The striker’s loan deal is set to expire on June 30, 2025, as confirmed by the Turkish Football Federation, and Galatasaray hopes to extend his stay further.
