President Muhammadu Buhari is being expected to arrive Taraba by 1 pm today from Ghana where he is attending Ghana’s 61st independent anniversary.
Though details of the sudden visit of the President to Taraba is not known, Special Adviser to Governor Darius Ishaku on Media and Publicity said the President would be received by Governor Darius Ishaku at Suntai Airport in Jalingo by 1 pm.
Dan Abu said the President will then proceed to Jolly Nyame Stadium Jalingo for a rally and stakeholders meeting.
Unofficial sources said the coming of President Muhammadu Buhari may not be unconnected to the recent outbreak of communal clash between Fulani and Mambilla ethnic groups on the Mambila plateau in Taraba state.
The crisis which erupted on Thursday last week has claimed at the lives of at least 40 people according to local residents, though police have so far confirmed 10 people killed from both groups.
Ahead of the visit, security in Jalingo the Taraba State capital has been beefed up to ensure a hitch-free visit for the number one citizen.
