The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) says its operatives in Kaduna State in the course of their duties impounded a vehicle for overloading and broken windscreen only to later discover occupants of the vehicle are suspected child traffickers with minors heading to an unknown destination.

The vehicle was travelling from Kano to undisclosed location on April 27 when the patrol team flagged down the driver who refused to stop. He was later caught after the traffic light at Dutsenma junction turned red other vehicles obstructed his escape.

Seventeen minors and three adults, totalling 20 persons instead of only 9 persons, were found occupying the vehicle.

The Corps’ Sector Head of Operations in Kaduna who interviewed the driver and could not get a convincing answer regarding the movement of the passengers, immediately directed the occupants to be taken to Kano office of NAPTIP for further investigation and necessary action.
